2014CPR Carmenère

Seven Hills

CPR is our “open range”, “no boundary” hallmark brand intended for wines derived from limitless imagination and distinctive quality. As the winery looked for ways to expand the CPR wine collection, we looked to add small lot single vineyard sourced wines. Since the debut of CPR in 2014 we’ve released 5 single vineyard, single varietal wines of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

As the longest running producers of Carmenère in Washington State, we are excited to add Carmenère to this collection.

Tasting Note

Our extraordinary Carmenère truly expresses the pioneering cultural terroir of the Walla Walla Valley. Planting this esoteric and very fickle, “lost Bordeaux” grape took foresight and courage. The rewards are priceless!

Sixty-four months in barrel has tamed this intense, crimson-purple colored Carmenère that possesses wild-rustic aromatics of charred forest floor, pepper spice and feral-dark red fruits. Balanced acidity with soft tannins are roughed up by cracked black/green peppercorn and hints of grilled rare tenderloin that corral concentrated flavors of black currant, plum, pomegranate and dark cherry with hints of dried rosemary. Savor this wine under the stars while reveling your most incredible campfire dinner ever. ~ Charles P. Reininger, Winemaker
