Since 2010, we’ve been producing Sémillon from Birch Creek Vineyard in Walla Walla, one of the oldest vineyards dating back to 1997. The warmer temperatures at Birch Creek Vineyard allows the Sémillon to ripen sooner here compared to other Walla Walla vineyards. Typically bottled as a single varietal and always aged in stainless steel, our Sémillon has always been a summer favorite.

The 2018 Semillon experienced early sugar ripening, therefore harvesting was delayed to further develop its flavor. Blended with 17% Sauvignon Blanc, our Semillon achieves the desired balance and style without malolactic fermentation. The result is a racy, youthful wine that pairs wonderfully with white fish and asparagus topped with a beurre blanc sauce or scallops. Wisps of stone fruit tree blossoms, lemon grass, hints of citrus, linalool, and clover honeycomb grace the nose. Edgy acidity with underscored minerality support blended flavors of papaya, white grapefruit and tangerine rind, a hint of banana, pear and hay. ~Chuck Reininger, Winemaker
